This is the last of the older Boat Girl strips. I am trying to figure out new things to do with her. It’s really tough because she kind of can’t have a regular cast at all! WHO HAS IDEAS FOR BOAT GIRL STRIPS? What sorts of adventures would you like to see Boat Girl have? Post comments below, and let’s spend the weekend with our THINKING CAPS ON.

TUESDAY: Another adventure of Rhodabelle Lett, who has GOT WHAT YOU NEED.

  1. Boat Girl discovers a series of uncharted islands! Boat Girl meets a GHOST SHIP! Boat Girl is temporarily eaten by a whale, and you get to use that classic cartoon setting where In A Whale is like this gross-but-habitable piece of architecture the size of a cathedral where the ceiling’s like a ribcage! Boat Girl navigates via her own non-standard set of stars and constellations! Boat Girl’s world is perhaps even a flat earth, with a dramatic edge to sail off of! Boat Girl secretly yearns to explore the mysterious depths of the ocean, and resents the reality that sailing is limited to the surface!

  2. Wait, I’ve got another one: Boat Girl attempts to practice social interaction and solve this issue of not having a regular cast by building some shipmates out of, like, sea junk and debris.

  3. Kathleen: Oh no I’m going to have to do ALL OF THESE. The islands one I was already going to do and have a big list of ENIGMATIC Monkey Island style island names to go through, but now I have something to space out SCARY ISLANDS.

  4. Boat Girl is officially the best comic EVAR and people who don’t think so are doomed to meander through the remainders of their lives in a Boat Girl-deprived state.

Can the ghost ship be crewed by fascist, undead pirates who Boat Girl ultimately defeats through her powers of stoicism?

PS – Boat Girl needs a heroic canine companion (organic or manufactured of sea junk and debris at illustrator’s discretion).
