So this strip marks the point where I run out of the plot ideas I have had since like 2009! Aside from (1) how the whole Elvira-is-a-ghost plot is going to resolve and (2) how the whole strip will resolve, which are already pretty much set, ALL IS MYSTERIOUS NOW, or was before maybe a month ago when I started plotting out much of the Last Storyline. After that storyline concludes, sometime I do not know when, I will still do new stuff with the grim Man Who Hates Fun crew, but probably on a much more occasional schedule, and without these ridiculous story arcs that take A GAZILLION YEARS to conclude.

Before all is over, expect an adventure featuring (1) ancient philosophers! (2) beloved British actresses! (3) anticoagulants! (4) magic and ghosts! I wish I didn’t have to subject you to such an adventure, but status quo must be reached. What was started must be completed, and will be completed in a way that will delight Many of You. I guarantee this!

For now, expect delightful Existential Girls action on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next couple of weeks, and I’ll see everyone on MAY 13 for the debut of BAD MOTHER. You will not be disappointed by it!

  1. SAD! to see this go to hiatus, but I’m sure the final chapter will be WORTH THE WAIT. Crazy to think that this is like, pretty much the only long-form comic I’ve bothered to follow throughout my adult life. Totally looking forward to more Existential Girls, in all their manifestations.

Who is the little sprite in the background?

    1. The little sprite is, um, an imaginary creation that I made up really fast so I could make sure I knew how to use wallpapers, because it was the fastest thing I knew I could create DIGITALLY. She will be leaving soon. Before I desaturated her she had purple hair, green skin and a bright orange dress, for maximum SNES era effect.

  2. So I realize this has been on hiatus forever, and that you have other projects you’re more into now, which is cool, but I really hope you’ll give us more MWHF soon! Or at least sometime. I was a bit obsessed with this comic a year ago; the obsession wants to be refueled. :)

    1. I am proud to have created the subject of an obsession! And I am working on more MWHF stuff–the ending is mostly written out and there are some pages. I’m finishing up a comic book I’ve been working on for a while now–once that’s done, it’s back in to the MWHF ending. It features Plato and an airplane so far.
