The Man Who Hates Fun, a dour yet youthful Stoic.
Elvira Ellison, a young college dropout mired in sorrows.
Dascha Rand, the illegitimate granddaughter of Ayn Rand and head of the anarchist Rand Corporation.
Elton "Noam" Ellison, Elvira's brother, former anarchist, currently a cop.
Milton Frogman, a troubled sixth-grader of putative genius.
Trash, a jealous independent musician with the "Blips".
Diane the Witch.
Seneca, an inspiration to us all. This is the last strip for a little while. I will, though, be putting up new stuff over at the new site! Notably, I will be putting up my new strip BAD MOTHER starting on May 13, and other, older stuff on Tuesdays and Thursdays leading up to such date.
So this strip marks the point where I run out of the plot ideas I have had since like 2009! Aside from (1) how the whole Elvira-is-a-ghost plot is going to resolve and (2) how the whole strip will resolve, which are already pretty much set, ALL IS MYSTERIOUS NOW, or was before maybe a month ago when I started plotting out much of the Last Storyline. After that storyline concludes, sometime I do not know when, I will still do new stuff with the grim Man Who Hates Fun crew, but probably on a much more occasional schedule, and without these ridiculous story arcs that take A GAZILLION YEARS to conclude.
So, uh, please join me over at the new site! (For RSS types: here is the new feed.) Eventually I will update manwhohatesfun.com to point there and set up a bunch of redirect pages from this site, and it will be as if this PHP version of things Had Never Been.
Will I miss this site? Yes! I coded it myself in 2008 and was pretty proud of learning PHP enough to make that happen! And then I had to deal with four years of avoiding apostrophes, spam comments, total lack of tags and metadata on each post, and all sorts of other terrible awful stuff, and it took something like three hours of work to get the new site working as well as this site. Even now, I am watching what I type so I do not have to dig around in phpMyAdmin to fix things that should not have been a problem in the first place. So like Ozymandias, this site will remain merely two vast and trunkless legs in the sand, and I will use Comicpress as I probably shoulda done All Along.
Thank you for visiting my terrible website for four years! Go to the new one now!
