Show Recap: Pig Plague Show
Last night, we swarmed Stain Bar and Stain gave us free drinks and said "YOU DO YOUR THING -- YOU PEOPLE OF THE BOOK. YOU COME ONCE A MONTH LIKE LOVERS WITH A MENSTRUATION FETISH, AND HERE YOU ARE ONCE AGAIN. SHOW US SOME BLOOD AND GET US HARD!"

Stain was all empty on account of the Pig Plague, but we pulled some folks out of their Brooklyn bunkers anyway, and they sat down with us and listened to some good old fashioned short stories for a few hours.

I kicked off the night with a strange tale about power, Christmas, and video editing called "Oh Boy" that I wrote based on the beats and musical genius of DJ Goodman Carter and based on this independent short film from the past:

Next, X. Verdammt took the stage and read a story from hell about dealing pornography to junior high school students called "The Porn Peddler." Man, I tell you: the nerdy junior high school student who bought all the damn porn in the end was wearing a t-shirt featuring a cartoon dog with sunglasses on. I laughed so hard that my pain rearranged itself into a new shape, like somebody folding a paperclip into a statue of a noble savage.

Finally, Dr. Future read a selection from his new novel, a chapter entitled "Fancy Groceries." The chapter was about what it feels like to get charity that you don't want from somebody you have fucked before but now you hate. You feel bad the whole time, but then, if you lash out, you will make the person cry, and then you will feel even worse.

Don't try and help the people you fuck, ya'll: JUST LET THEM BE.

Afterward, we hung out with Georgia John from Dead Press and our new Fiction Circus lawyer, Vince. We discussed whether or not Borges was gay, and whether or not it is strange to want to have sex with mermaids. We discussed the future of copyright legislation and whether or not the entire idea of law is contingent on God.

Then we went out and got hamburgers, spinach pie, and chicken wings and talked about how you should not ask for medical advice about the Pig Plague on your cell phone while you are riding the subway and the subway stops underneath the East River.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, PEOPLE.

(Hi, Vince!)
