Upon the Tangled Crimson Sheets
Marie DuPrey
March 17, 1997

"Upon the Tangled Crimson Sheets" is a poem written by Marie DuPrey. It was featured prominently in the exhibit "Lovelorn" at the The National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest, Romania. The text is below:

"Upon the tangled crimson sheets

and frame that's lined with quicksilver,

when the jutting meets the crease,

the endless message might still stir.

And if they reach that hallowed gate,

their rapturous mystery will create

the gift which all eyes long to see:

the rose which blooms eternally.

The exhibit was based on the concepts of birth, death, and rebirth in Western and Eastern philosophy and ran from June of 1996 through January of 1997.
